Use the Virtual Associate to assist in drafting legal documents.
A popular function of the Virtual Associate is to ask it to assist in writing drafts of certain legal documents such as motions, briefs, contracts, letters and memos to file.
Below are some helpful tips to streamlining the process and to successful results.
Work in Small Chunks: Ask the Virtual Associate to craft smaller portions of text for the document and then piece those together to build the entire version. For example, you may ask the Virtual Associate to write a paragraph related to arguing for X position based on Y law and set of Z facts. Then do that for each element of the law required to include, or for each individual fact.
Iterate on the Responses: When the Virtual Associate returns a response such as a version of a paragraph of text or a particular point to be made. Ask follow-up questions and point out corrections to the Virtual Associate in subsequent questions/prompts.
Point out Problems: Don’t be afraid to correct the Virtual Associate when responses are not quite on-point or to your liking. Be specific about what it got wrong or where it can be modified to offer better, or more effective language to be used.
Specify the Voice: Include the style of writing that you require for the response. Examples can be to ask the Virtual Associate to return a response, “in the style of the New York Times” or “in a way that a fifth grader will understand.”
